Aerial Techniques at Alford Mill, Lincolnshire

NOTES
The sequence of pictures shown above I hope give a feeling for the approach and techniques I use when KAPping. The subject was Alford windmill in Lincolnshire down in England on a lovely spring afternoon . The wind at ground level was quite light, hence my choice of kite. Once the kite was launched it was straightforward to walk in closer to the mill. The wind direction was such though, that I could not get the shots and angles I wanted to. Had the wind been blowing from the launch field towards the mill things would have been better for the photography. nevertheless I got several striking pictures from the shoot.
Technical
The sequence was grabbed from a Sharp Handycam through my Hauppage TV card on my PC tuned to the video output from the camera. Frames were grabbed at fairly low resolution (250x190) to save on file size, capturing the relevant frame and saving each down to a GIF. Each GIF was then captioned and composited using a GIF animator. Obviously, this is neither an animation nor a video, more a sequence of pictures to give the flavour of the action.
